Folks,
Is this possible? Does anyone know if this is possible?
Martin
I just cut pasted 你好 (Nǐ hǎo) into my Performance Purchase Instructions and it displayed fine.
Hi Heath,
I'm trying to use 卓颖贤 - when I paste it into the content field it looks okay but when saved to the database, it transforms itself into "???".
Are you setting the show Title 卓颖贤 to display online? I'm assuming you're on v7 ... You use the Admin portal to override the Production Season and Performance Title to that. (PS: Flower Boy ... nice!)
I am so happy to follow this conversation. So it is possible to use non-Latin based alphanumeric characters with TNEW? That is fantastic. Our academy just announced to me yesterday they are planning a future audition tour to Japan, Taiwan, etc. and they wanted me to do bi-lingual reg paths for each location and I had a moment of...I am not sure I can do that...but it looks like I can? Brilliant.

Yeah, I think v6/v7 is the trick here. v6 has all sorts of issues pulling non-latin-standard characters over: used to give us fits, especially as it is not at all consistent in how it processes them. v7, since there need be no translation, handles these things pretty easily.

Gavin and Heath,
Many thanks for the feedback. Just for clarity, we're on RAMP, Tessitura v12.0.5 and TNEW v6.
I'm suspecting that this is actually a database issue. Here's my process:
I have also tried updating the content via SQL but the characters are still saved as "???" <sad face>
Time for a helpdesk ticket methinks!
I'm afraid you're almost certainly out of luck. With v6 we couldn't even get an "á" to work, which was entertaining when we had a director named Matiás.
Hi Gavin,
Interestingly, in our environment I am able to get Lukáš Vondrácek (as per Darrell's post) to display correctly!
It all gets easier in v7.
Apologies I saw somewhere that you were on v15 and assumed.
