Hello All,
I am not sure if this is the correct forum for this, so please feel free to direct me somewhere else if need be...
We at the ballet have been having a lot of conversations about accessibility and inclusion, and it takes many forms obviously, however my specific focus for this is the web site and that includes the TNEW portion of our site. We are on v6 at the moment.
We recently had someone test our purchase path from the perspective of a blind person, and they could not complete the test because they could not get past the captcha (there was not audio challenge option). Does anyone know how to make captcha on v6 more accessibility friendly? Does the updated captcha in v7 take any ADA or accessibility guidelines into account? Has anyone else run into this issue?
Many thanks,
Michaela Donnelly
Hi Michaela,
Hope you are doing well!
You are correct - v6 uses an older version called "captcha" which was not very accessibility-friendly. In version 7 of TNEW, we are using reCaptcha v2 with which Google made quite a few improvements in support of accessibility. Here's a link to their page outlining the approach: https://support.google.com/recaptcha/answer/6175971?hl=en
Hope that helps!

Nara,
Hi! All is well here and I hope with you as well.
Thank you for this answer, I thought that the version used in v7 was vastly improved but before I assured the powers that be of this, I needed to make sure.
Many thanks for the reply and the link to help me back up my explanations.
Cheers,
M
