Booking only in multiples

Hi all, we're looking to put our lottery sales online through TNEW. With BC's lottery regulations when we give discounts for multiples they have to be booked only to that ticket type. ie, this ticket says 1 for $40, so I can't sell you three of them for $33 each. We've solved this with zones and it works with occasional human error. Online however we can't just let people pick two tickets at 3 for $99 prices.

Is there a way we can force people to buy specific numbers? Like have the zone drop down have only 3, 6, 9?

I've tried a price rule, but it will only change the type, not the zone, and we get an error because the 3 pack isn't valid in the single price zone.

Any insights into selling specific volumes would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Ann

  • Hi Ann,

Jessica here from Tessitura Support Escalation Projects. You could sell a "dummy zone" online that is $99 for one ticket online and then manually return them and convert them to three seats in the proper zone that you would send them if you're doing physical tickets. Another option would be to set it up as a fixed package. That doesn't work well with Mode of Sale if you're trying to see them as an add on but it's an option for a stand-alone purchase of the lottery tickets. Feel free to open up a suport ticket and we can talk through other possibilities.  Thanks,

    Jessica

Thanks Jessica. We ended up making a dummy performance and selling one ticket at $99 and returning them. It'll be less work in the long run to keep the real perf off the web.
