Does anyone know if there is a way to time restrict online donations (received through our website) that are for specific designations? Donors can designate a gift for Summer Camps and we need this gift to post to Tessitura as time restricted for the next fiscal year. Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions.
Are your online contributions being assigned to a Fund or an On Account method? If a Fund, then that should follow any time restriction rules applied to the appropriate campaign.
Thanks Gawain. It is to a Fund but the campaign is not time restricted. It is Individual restricted giving and only one designation - Summer Camps - needs to be time restricted. Is that possible?
Ah, so it's only being "flagged" as time restricted.
There is not a way, so far as I know. Online gifts are essentially contributions in an order, and designations cannot be applied to those. If you're just flagging the contribution, perhaps a special Fund option would do the trick?
So far as I know, your options would be to:
* Just use a special fund to flag the contributions.
* Create a new campaign for time-restricted donations.
* Apply the web contributions to a named On Account method, and then manually convert them into full contributions with the designation of your choice.
In the latter case, assuming this kind of contribution is very cut-and-dried (ours are not), you might, with enough technical wizardry, find a way to automate that conversion.
