We (McCarter Theatre in Princeton, NJ) have been on TNEW for 2 weeks and just launched a new website too! (Go Us!!!)
This past weekend we did our typical Black Friday sale ($40 tickets for certain events in certain sections). This year our patrons had trouble understanding the seating for the discount. Once the promotion code is entered and the patron selects the best seat available they are expecting the price to reflect the $40.00 offer. But they have selected a premium seat at the full price (which clearly states FULL PRICE as the price type; not Web $40--as we were not offering the promotion in our prime locations).
I opted to unclick "Override Default Price Type" in Offers, this way all inventory would display; and patrons could decide on their own whether to buy a prime seat at full price or a discounted $40 seat in an available location. If you KEEP "Override Default Price Type" clicked in offers; only the available inventory associated with the promo code displays (ie- hiding all the great prime seats still available at full price).
So we have quite a few confused patrons this past weekend choosing non-qualified seats and wondering why they weren't $40.
Does anyone else run into these types of issues?
Does your organization opt for checking or unchecking "Override Default Price Type".
Thanks in advance!
Jessica
Hi Jessica,
We take the Regular price type out of the mode of sale that has the offer price, so that when the promo code is entered, only the discount price type is available. This means that only the zones to which the discount applies are available for selection.
Feel free to send me a message if you'd like more information.
