TNEW and document submission

Howdy network!

We would like to use TNEW to take submissions for our New Works Festival. Everything is still analog right now, meaning the Festival director has to wade through over 100 physical script submissions in his office for months during the selection process. I'd like to find a way to utilize the Documents section of the Research tab in the constituent records to house a digital copy of the scripts. TNEW has all the account info capture capacity that we need but I'm wonering if anyone has devised a way for patrons to submit documents via TNEW as well. We'd like to do this without a customization but I think that won't be possible.

  • Hi David,

I'm afraid not, however, in my last job where we took applications for Bachelor and Master courses, we got around this using FormSite.

The path was a little different to standard tickets - we first got users to register an account in TNEW. They were then redirected to the form we built in FormSite which accepted document attachments. Each attachment has a unique URL. I scheduled a daily .csv from FormSite containing that day's data which I could import into a local table, including the URLs for documents/headshots for use in the constituent custom tab. You could do something similar otherwise you have the option to download the documents so they can be attached to constituent records that way.

Once a FormSite form was submitted by the user, s/he returned to the TNEW purchase path to select an audition/interview timeslot and pay an application fee.

    Cheers,

    Kevin

  • Thanks Kevin! Was the redirection in the purchase path a customization or was that something you were able to set up on your own?

  • No you can do this yourself, I assigned a few auxiliary production season pages (auxiliary/pdDetail.aspx?psn=####) with text and HTML for button(s) so we could direct the user as necessary.

Be aware that we had a booking/payment as part of the user journey. If you are just looking for a faciility for users to attach documents and submit name/address/phone, perhaps you can just get away with using a FormSite form then use the consituent import to create records.

  • Thanks for the suggestions everyone! I'll let you know what direction we end up going with this.
