Selling Standing Places Online

Hi,

I would be extremely grateful for any feedback on how other Tessiturians are selling Standing Places online.

We have 124 Standing Places in our Main Auditorium and a further 50 in our Studio Theatre and we are obliged to offer all of these for sale online. The problem we have is that on our SYOS screen all tickets are referred to as ‘Seats’ (irrespective of whether they are a Seat or a Standing Place) and despite copious messaging throughout the rest of the purchase path, customers are still turning up to the theatre expecting to sit for the entire performance.

Any suggestions, hints or tales of woe will be gratefully received.

Cheers K

  • We sell standing places on line as a Best Available, but also as prt of the SYOS plan that we have.

Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4

Our SYOS Choose Section page shows “Gallery or Arena (Standing)” when hovered over, and also has text below detailing that “The Gallery is an unreserved Standing General Admission Area”. The messaging also says “Continue to purchase general admission tickets”

The next page again messages the area as a Standing General Admission area.

We only moved to selling standing places via SYOS last April, and to my knowledge we haven't had any more complaints than we had when people booked them through our Call Centre. We have also made sure that our tickets display the word standing too, instead of seat number to try and eliminate confusion.
