Question for TNEW users

We've gotten some recent feedback from our Development department that the purchase path is confusing to patrons who are only making a donation because the donation goes into a cart and looks like a "purchase" which is not how some donors think of what they are transacting.  Are they any examples of TNEW clients who have tweaked button text on the cart and checkout pages for this reason or any TNEW pages who are seeing great success with online donations? If so, could you please send them my way?  Thank you!

  • Hi Amy,

We have been on Tessitura and using TNEW for a couple of months now. Our legacy ticketing and legacy development system were two sepereate systems that did not talk to each other so we were not able to sell tickets have someone make a donation online in the same order. Now that we have TNEW we have seen quite a few orders come through with donations. When we setup TNEW we opted to have the donations go into an on account payment type and have a CSI is created automatically that we report on.

However, when we first setup TNEW we found out that we needed to create a separate on account payment type called "Web Contribution". This is because whatever the name of the on account payment type is is what will show in the cart as well as on the confirmation email that TNEW sends. I believe this is also true for whatever you call the fund if you process donations that way, but I could be incorrect on that as that is not the way we process them.

I'm not sure if this answers you question but feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

    Thanks,
