Web development vendor for Drupal/Tessitura integration

Hello everyone,

We are about to undertake a rebuild of our site, which runs on Drupal. We use TNEW, but our current Drupal installation is not integrated with TNEW at all; users move from one site to the other. We would like to have our rebuilt Drupal site to make calls to the Web API. Has anyone done a recent rebuild of a Drupal site that does this? Did you use an outside vendor? If so, which one?

    Hi Jesse -

We have a Drupal site that is fully integrated with Tessitura, using custom Drupal modules that we've built and expanded upon over the years. We currently have custom modules for:

    - Tessitura API / constituents
    - Ticketing
    - Membership
    - Donations
    - Class Catalog & Registration
    - Email Subscriptions

We launched a new website last October and gave all the modules an upgrade to Drupal 7. We're also quite proud of the up-to-the-minute view of film showtimes, pulling from Tessitura: https://www.smm.org/exhibits-films

Gorton Studios here in Minnesota did all the original work, but their developer moved on to. We worked with another local Drupal shop, TEN7, on the rebuild last year. http://ten7.com

Feel free to contact me directly and I can chat more and get you in touch with our firm.

  • Hello Eric,

Your site is lovely! I can see why you're proud of it. So do I understand correctly that you're not using TNEW at all, that your site is communicating directly with the system tables via those custom modules? That's where we'd like to end up at the end of this rebuild.

Correct, we have never used TNEW. We think about it, but have stuck with our custom modules that speak directly to the Tessitura API.

And full disclosure: We're a general admission venue, so we don't have any Select Your Own Seat functionality. And we're only doing SOAP calls at this point.

  • Hello again. We're getting ready to send out the RFP for the rebuild of our site. You don't happen to know if the developer that moved on from Gorton Studios (who built your Tessitura API-related Drupal modules) is working for another agency? And if so, which agency that is?

I realize my original post didn't actually say where the original developer went. Sorry about that. He's Ronan Dowling. In addition to his work at Gorton Studios, he created the popular Drupal module Backup & Migrate - and is one of the creators of the Node Squirrel Drupal application, which was purchased by Pantheon last year. He now works full-time for Pantheon. I don't think they do web development for hire. https://pantheon.io/

I did have a good experience with the TEN7 team on the rebuild of our site last year. Email me if you want more specific information.
