using old code on new site

Hi everyone,

I’ve been asked to poll the wider community on something…

For anyone who has gone to a new website (especially from POP to something else) and had exchange functionality-  did you rebuild the exchange process, or attempt to use the pre-existing code of your old site for that section?  Our web devs are having issues with using the existing POP code on our new site and were wondering if anyone else had gone through this process and also had issues?  Or, did you all just decide to do a redesign of the exchange path from the ground up as you were already re-doing the rest of your site?

Thanks for any info!

Cheers,
Kathleen

This isn't really an answer to your question, but I would imagine that the old code makes assumptions about the session or cart that are not being met by the newer implementation.  I'd be happy to talk to your developers and help them out.
