TNEW - Promo Codes for a Sub price

I may be losing my mind, but is there a way to create a promo code (offer) for a subscription price type in a package?  Our Marketing Department wants to do a mini-flex subscription through Travelzoo so I created a Travelzoo specific price type as an added method of tracking (since we pay them after the fact) which I'm trying to tie to a promo code.

I did a test purchase on the web and it defaulted back to the original subscription price for that package.  However, I did see that in the dropdown that it was available to the order just not used.

Could it be a result of the fact we sell our subscriptions unseated?  Could I have completely lost my mind and skipped a step that I do almost every day for individual performances?  Is this not completely possible?  Am I poorly trained (likely) and am setting this up like an individual offer when it's an entirely different beast.

Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  • Hi Kara,

Kevin is correct! Here's a checklist for you to reference for when you are setting this up. This applies to both single ticket and subscription promo setup.

Below is a checklist for troubleshooting promos you are applying to any TN Web Product. (TN Express Web, TN Mobile Plus & TN Social Ticketing)

    IN V11

    Items to double check.

    1) The source and appeal for your offer have valid dates

    2) Enable the MOS and Price Type to be available to the "Web User" in security

    3) Assign the Mode of Sale to the correct price type that is for the special promo under the system table: TX_MOS_PRICETYPE

    4) Assign the MOS to the appropriate shipment methods under TX_MOS_SHIP_METHOD with the Login correct login type

    5) You've entered in the correct source code number in TR_WEB_SOURCE_NO and the correct MOS, correct parent key and checked the "Override Rank" box.

    6) Be sure the MOS has been added to the unassigned allocation for the facilities

    a.            Go to Ticketing Setup

    b.            Then Facility Manager

    c.             Click on your facility

    d.            Click on Screens

    e.            Go to Hold/Alloc Maps

    f.             Click Maintain Allocation Codes

    g.            Under “Available Modes of Sale” Click “Add” then chose the correct MOS for the promo.

    h.            Click Save.

    7) Be sure that the desired price type and MOS have been entered in to the performances you want the promo to apply to, and that they both have valid dates.

    8) Also, be sure that your offers under the MOS do not have overlapping date and times.

    9) Make sure the price type has not been entered in LTR_TN_Express_Web_Exclude_PT for it to be excluded for the single tickets purchase path.

    IN V12

Items to double check for v12.

    1) The source and appeal for your offer have valid dates

    2) Enable the MOS to be available to the "Web User” (Ticketing Setup>>Modes of Sale>>MOS/User tab)

    3) Check that the web user group has access to the appropriate price types (Ticketing Setup>>Pricing Setup>>Price Types>>Price Type/User Group tab)

    4) Assign the Mode of Sale to the correct price type (Ticketing setup>>MOS>>MOS/Pricetype tab)

    5) Assign the MOS to the appropriate shipment methods under TX_MOS_SHIP_METHOD with the Login correct login type

    6) You've entered in the correct source code number in TR_WEB_SOURCE_NO and the correct MOS, correct parent key and checked the "Override Rank" box.

    7) Be sure the MOS has been added to the appropriate allocation for the facilities (Ticketing Setup>>Modes of Sale>>MOS/Allocations tab

    8) Be sure that the desired price type and MOS have been entered in to the performances you want the promo to apply to, and that they both have valid dates.

    9) Also, be sure that your offers under the MOS do not have overlapping date and times.

    9) Make sure the price type has not been entered in LTR_TN_Express_Web_Exclude_PT for it to be excluded for the single tickets purchase path.

For all scenarios, if you are experiencing issues of the promo not showing up online, log into Tessitura as the web user and try to purchase tickets under that MOS and promo to verify that the setup is correct. You can also right click on your TNEW page and click "View Source", scroll down to the very bottom of the page and see what MOS you are currently in. This will help verify if the MOS switch is occurring in TNEW or if it is a pricing issue.

    Hope this helps!

    Melissa

  • I'm running into the same problem. The Promo code is unlocking the the price type but when I select it and go to the cart page, the original price type is used. I can tell because the package fee is still being applied via the web whereas it isn't being applied (desired effect) when I run test purchases directly in Tessi. I applied the offer to the packages in question using the Packages radio button in Season Maintenance. What did I miss? I'm not seeing a place to create an offer in package set up.
