Dynamic Web Donations Email Confirmations

Hello.

I'm new to the Arts Industry and to the Tessitura Network. But, I wanted to know if anyone uses any dynamic email confirmations templates?

Essentially, we are looking to have a template that is dynamic enough to be able to display the correct information, depending on whether or not a customer/patron makes a Ticket Purchase, or makes a Donation only, or makes a Ticket Purchase and a Donation? We currently have a web Template that will only display Ticket Order information, and won't display any Donation information, when a Donation is made. Would anyone be willing to share any Template HTML code, if their organization currently has an email confirmation Template that can handle to above mentioned situations?

Thank you all for your time.

  • Hi Gawain.

That Marc Caro is a distant cousin of mine… so, it’s not me… I’m not him.

We are currently using Tessitura’s email confirmation template system, but we have found that we will need to customize the Template to suit our needs. Also, we will be using the confirmations once a person has placed a Ticket Order and/or Donation via our Website. And, we are currently a RAMP client.

    Thank you for your help.

    Are you completely sure?

    A couple of questions:

Are you using Tessitura's email confirmation template system, or another?

Are you using this for confirmations from the client or a website?  Or both?

(For reference, we use Tessitura's system for confirmations from the client, but still use a custom in-house system for confirmations from the web.)

Are you a RAMP client?  Are you a TNEW client?

I don't have immediate answers for you, but very shortly we are going to be replacing our custom web e-commerce system with TNEW, and will be radically expanding our use of Tessitura's email confirmation templates at that time, and will likely cover some of the same issues.  We expect to have significant progress on that by the end of February.

  • Has anyone had any luck in developing custom email templates to trigger dependent on what the patron does online: buy tickets, make a donation, both together?  We're actually looking to customize the subject line of the header based on the patron's activity.

  • Hello.

I found that I could make our Confirmation Email templates more dynamic, by using .xml files to do the logic and analysis, instead of trying to use the standard APIs (which seem to be relatively limited and restrictive in the dynamic capabilities).

Feel free to reach out to me, if you have any questions or require any further guidance.
