I wanted to send you all an update and let you know that we have just launched our new online ticketing website at https://tickets.cooperhewitt.org. We think this new site takes a new approach to ticketing in the context of a museum, allowing visitors to quickly and easily purchase tickets for an advanced date, or from their mobile phones so they may jump to the head of the lines.
In the first hour of launching the site ( and before we even announced that it was available ) we made our first transaction for two Sr. tickets to someone in Chicago. It was great to be able to sit back and watch that happen and to track their purchase in Tessitura.
In the next couple of weeks we will be adding a single sign on experience so our users can sign in once and be logged in to all of our websites using their Tessitura credentials. Shortly after this, when our “Pen” is ready for prime-time, we will be turning on a feature which prints a visitor’s custom short URL on their ticket so that they can view all of the things they saw and did during their visit.

The site is far from complete and currently only offers General Admission ticketing, but we will be adding much more in the months to come, including public programs and events bookings, memberships, tours, donations, and more.
