Hello Tess World,
We have an ongoing problem where representatives from organizations are logging in to TNEW and updating the Org's information with their own. They seem confused that they are in the org's record, not their personal record.
In gearing up for TNEW 5.0, I got excited to see that LTR_TNEW_FORM_CONTROLS had the functionality to prevent people from editing their Name information using AccountPageNamesAccess. Unfortunately, it only seems to affect Individual records. Institutional records still appear entirely editable.
When one goes into an Institutional record in TNEW, it looks like this:
Prefix: (Blank)First Name (Blank) *Middle Name: (Blank)Last Name: Organization's Name *Suffix: (Blank)
The primary contact's information is not included, even when it is designated as the Primary Contact and appears in the Salutation 1 line in the General page. More frustratingly, the First name field is required to save any other changes even though there is no First Name field this information gets saved to in the record.
Does anyone know how to at least make these fields non-editable? Or have any suggestions on how other orgs have handled this problem?
Hi Naomi,
Looks like you're right, there.
You may need to get the team to do some work for you if it's causing a lot of grief.
A band-aid solution meanwhile might be setting the status to False for AllowAccountPageAccess and RequireFirstName in LTR_TNEW_SITE_CONTROLS then modify your order confirmation template to include an email hyperlink so patrons can contact you if their details are different to that on the confirmation... :S
Cheers,
Kevin
