Web orders and Alt. Address

We noticed that the alt. address on web orders are getting populated with a value of "E". Anybody know where this setting is coming from? What API method populates this?

Thanks,

Marty

  • Marty,

This is expected behavior starting with version 8.0 of the software.  Below is an excerpt from the v8.0 Highlights document which addresses this issue.

    Email Address Associated with Orders

It is now possible when processing an order to attach a specific email address on the order, similar to the way a postal address can be associated with an order.

    Selecting an Alternate Eaddress

The Choose Address window which is accessed by clicking the Alt Adr chicklet in the Ticketing Orders window has been modified to include a section for email selection.  To select an alternate email address click on the desired email address within the window.

The Alt Adr control on the Ticketing Orders window has been changed as well.  If no specific email or postal address has been selected, No appears in the control as it did in previous versions.  If a specific postal address is selected P will appear in control; selecting a specific email address will cause E to display.  If both postal and email addresses have been selected then PE will appear.

NOTE: All orders created through the Web API will have the email address associated with the current web login recorded in the order.  For that reason all web orders will appear with an E in this control.

  • Thank you Anna, that would explain it then. Now I can tell my web developer that it is not his fault.
