Web orders and Alt. Address

We noticed that the alt. address on web orders are getting populated with a value of "E". Anybody know where this setting is coming from? What API method populates this?

Thanks,

Marty

  • I don't believe that we are inserting or updating the address. Just using the primary Eaddress and Address associated with the account. I think this alternate address is usually used when you may have a different shipping address or notification address than your primary that the customer can choose? maybe..?

    Hi Marty,

I assuming you're talking about a postal address. That would be created/modified by UpdateAddress(Ex).

  • Hi Marty,

Sorry if this is redundant, just trying to clarify...

After the web order is placed, where are you seeing the field populated with "E"? Is it under the constituent's "Addresses" tab, and "Postal" radio button? Which fields have "E" in them? What value is in the "Type" field for these addresses? Is this happening on *all* web orders? And do you see other, non-primary addresses on these records that appear to be filled out correctly?

A larger question, is your website supposed to be collecting another address? (i.e. is that part of your purchase path?) Because it really sounds like UpdateAddress is being called with erroneous parameters.
