Hi Everyone,
Well, I'm stumped. Is there a way to modify the TNEW page for one particular performance, when we've built the Content on the Production Season level?
We have one particular performance with significant changes from the usual shows (it's a sensory-appropriate performance). I figured the best way was to notate such was to modify TN_Express_Prod_Synopsis; however, as that's been set up at a higher hierarchy at the "Production Season" level, it of course won't change it at the subordinate "Performance" level.
I'm hoping that there's some way to change, or just add in the new note, on the one performance without having to delete the info on the Production Season level and then re-input on almost 100 or so individual performances.
Any suggestions? Pretty please with extra puppets on top?
Thanks,
--Daniel
I should let a TNEW person field this, but have you tried it? With content fields on production elements, the rule of thumb is that content attached to lower level nodes will supersede content on higher level nodes. So if you have Content X on the Production, and Content X is not defined on the Performance, then if you ask for content for that Performance, you'll get the content it "inherits" from the Production, but if you have Content X defined on the Production and Content X defined on the Performance, the Content X of the Performance should be what you see.
Well, when I deleted the TN_Express_Prod_Synopsis line on the Performance, it deleted them for all of them. Is that what you meant? I've been messing with it for hours and finally just went back to how I'd originally set it up, lest I mess things up more.
Hi -- we're on TNEW, and I have a feeling our marketing person has had me troubleshoot this exact same thing.
When you're looking at the performance level, any content types that are cascading down from prod season level or above will appear in italics, with that higher level indicated in the 'type' column.
You can't EDIT content that cascades down (you have to edit it from the level it exists on) but you can ADD the same content type at the lower level and have it contain different information.
Then when TNEW queries the API for the content type for the performance, it SHOULD pull from the bottom-most content that applies to that element.
You shouldn't be able to delete content types that are applied on a different level from the one you are looking at. Are you sure you were looking at the performance level? Like I said, anything that is being cascaded down will appear in italics.
So simple, yet so elusive.
THANKS EVERYONE!
