Promotion source codes not showing up in orders

We have a default source code attached to web sales but we use promotions for online sales as well. Even when people use the promotion code it still only shows the default web source code. We know the promotion was used because the special pricetype is in the order. Could this be something related to how the website source is setup?Our Website Mode of Sale is set up to Clear Source  under References. I've never understood what this meant but do you think if I unchecked that box it would allow the promotional source code to show up in the order?
