Getting N-Scan back online

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me how easy it is to get N-Scan back into the Online mode after the connection to the wireless network is lost? Is it as simple as pressing a re-connect to network type button- or is there more to it?

Am a little concerned that the connection may be lost as the user makes their way to different areas of the building.

Many thanks,

Alison

The scanner should automatically connect and reconnect to the nearest access point. However, you can ensure that it does so by going to the Actions menu and clicking Check Server (from within the Track Tickets function). This will force a check of the wireless status and return a “Server connection OK” or “Cannot connect to server” error. That’s the simplest way to ensure that the wireless connection is working.

If you get a “Cannot connect to server”, check the signal strength indicator at the top of the scanner screen. The user may simply be in a location where the wireless signal isn’t strong enough, or they’re blocked by architectural features.
