Restricting shipping method for specific performance

We would like to setup a specific performance with only "Hold at box office" as the shipping method.  What is the best way to accomplish this?

Thanks

  • Hi Oscar -

There really isn't any native way to restrict the system by performance to certain delivery methods.   We created content elements that we assign to productions and our web developer used them to restrict delivery options displayed in the shopping cart.  We just trust (and double check) that our staff will honor the restrictions when they sell a ticket.

    Hi Oscar

We are doing something similar but its not restricted to any particular performance. I've created a stored procedure which runs daily via SQL Jobs and updates the Delivery Method to Box Office Collect if the order by WEB is placed 10 days prior to the concert and has delivery method as Postal Mail.

Similarly you can also create an SP with the parameter of Performance Number and create SQL job to run daily for that specific performance till the performance date is reached.. This can take care of any manual errors.

    Hope this helps.

    cheers, Varsha

    Hi Varsha,

I do not believe we have that much access to the database as RAMP user.  Is there any other way?

    Thanks

  • Hello Oscar,

The only place that I know of setting up default delivery methods is by going to campaigns and then to references under campaigns. You would then go to the mode of sale tab to set up the delivery method. When you scroll to the right you will see the default delivery method column where you can set up that default.  The only place this could be tricky is for web sales. You may have to set up a new mode of sale for this specific performance to make the process easier.

    I hope that helps.

    Hi Chris,

This is very logical to me.  We will try from this route.

    Thanks

At this moment, it is impossible for us to restrict the shipping method for specific performance on TNEW without using the default Web MOS.  We cannot use Promo Code, or the method that Varsha has suggested.   Hope this feature will be available for future TNEW.

    Thank everyone on this issue.
