Mark accounts for refusal to give email

How do others out there mark Constituent IDs if a patron declines to give an email address?  We currently have a flashing icon in the header that alerts the box office to ask for an email address if one does not exist on the Constituent ID.  This is causing them to ask again, and again.  Perhaps a specific Electronic Address type ... Thoughts?

Thanks,

Chuck

  • Hi Charles,

We use the E-Market Restrictions to indicate when a patron was last asked.  We set up specific restrictions with a year, so for our 2013 season we have:

Refused 2013 - reps choose this if they have an email but refuse to give it

Not Applicable 2013 - chosen when the patron does not have an email address

Tickets Only 2013 (used for when patron provides only for the purpose of PAH)

We will create 2014 ones when our 2014 season starts.  This way a rep can tell at a glance when the patron was last asked for their email address and know whether to attempt to ask again.
