Cheap, Reliable Printer Suggestions...

Hi All,

I'm looking for any recommendations regarding a reliable printer to be used strictly for printing cc receipts.   Our organization is planning to use Tessitura at our Concession Stand and isn't looking to spend the money on an expensive ticket printer that will only print receipts.  Any suggestions?  Thanks.

Some of our box offices at Yale use printers made by Practical Automation. They use the same generic/text driver as the Bocas, and they're pretty reliable, and I believe they're a lot less pricey than Bocas.

    Good luck!

  • If all you're going to do is receipts you'll probably be OK with the Practical printers, but they do have some driver differences that will make things like barcodes and some spacing not work properly with current iterations of Tessitura.  Have you looked at little thermal receipt printers?  We use them in our pub and bookstall and they were fairly cheap, but we don't run them with Tess so I don't know about drivers.

  • We’ve had so many compatibility issues w/ printers and Tessitura in the past that I’m really looking for something tried and tested.  But I’ll definitely look into the thermal receipt printer option (its by far the cheapest)… Thanks Jeanne.

    Best,

    Doug
