Import Seated Gen Admission Ticket Orders

Hi all,

I'm wondering if anyone has a success story of importing General Admission ticket orders using the Ticket Order Import Utility where the utility seated and printed tickets?

The GA tickets in our system don't have a Row or Seat Number in the Sub Line Item for this perf so there is nothing to enter in these columns in the data file for import.  But this means that the utility will not seat it.

I'm trying to decide if I should import them, and seat and print retroactively (not ideal - it's a lot of orders), never seat them (not ideal - messes up some reporting), or make the part of the Facility where we are putting these orders no longer GA and arbitrarily assign seats to these people (also time-consuming, inaccurate - and can I even do this at this stage??)

Unless there is something I'm missing where the import could GA seat people? (Crossing fingers...)

Thanks!

Frannie

  • This is indeed possible using the Order Import with a few considerations.  The Mode(s) Of Sale being used must allow unseated orders.  As long as the import data contains Performance, Zone, PriceType, a number of seats, and there is no section, row or seat, the Order Import Utility will create unseated orders.  You can then use the Automated Seating process in Season Manager to seat these unseated orders into the GA facility.  If you need to have these tickets in a printed status, printing to a NULL Printer can accomplish this requirement.
