I'm new to the Ticketing side of things in Tessitura. I've never done anything with Season Manager, Ticketing Setup, Facility Manager, Packages, etc., so forgive me for some newbie questions.
What role does a LIVE to TEST copy play with respect to Rollover and mapping price types from one season to another? Do I really have to perform a series of lengthy LIVE to TEST copies every time I make changes?
And if so, is there any easier way to do the LIVE to TEST copy, maybe automating parts of the procedure into a manually-run job in SQL Management Studio?
Thanks, Tessiturians.
Hi Matt
We do a Live-Test automated copy nightly, into what we call our Model environment, so that people can do setup one day in Live, and then test it the next day in Model, without having to do anything special. That's particularly useful in the Rollover process, of course, because the process can be repeatedly tested (if necessary - it usually runs just fine for us, but if you're setting up to do it for the first time, repeated tweaking and testing might be very handy))
The scripts and other components that we use to do the automated copy are in my shared files, here.
