Switching BOCAs from 200 to 300 dpi

We are getting new 300 dpi BOCAs and are currently using 200 dpi.

Has anyone out there switched printer types in the middle of a season? Any advice? Any known documentation about doing this? I've read that you can't have the two types installed at the same time. How do you go about rebuilding your ticket formats if you can't have them online at the same time? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Hi Linda,

You can have a 200 and 300 DPI printer installed at the same time, but using them together for regular operations is not practical.  You can only have one design attached to a price type (either one optimized for 200 DPI or one optimized for 300) so you can’t really choose the design based on which printer you are using (unless you are batch printing).  I don’t think it would be a problem to add a 300 DPI printer installed for testing.

For info on how to calculate the row and column values you need, see this help topic: http://www.tessituranetwork.com/Help_System/Content/Ticket%20Design/Printer%20Types.htm

And you can copy an existing design and then edit the row and column values (use the Edit button to activate the fields, not the Edit Selected Designs button) so you don’t have to start from scratch with your new designs.
