For our subscription acquisitions, we would like to send out a coupon offer to our patrons with a card offering them $50 off a purchase of $150 or more. What is the best way for me to set this up? Also, as we use TNEW, would we be able to offer this special online? Thanks all.
Hi Amanda,
I don’t think that there is a way to accomplish this on TNEW without a customization, and maybe not even with a customization (though consulting can get pretty creative). I suggest opening a help ticket with the TNEW team to see what they think.
In the application, probably the cleanest way to do this is with the Allocate function, new in v11, which allows you to edit the total ticket amount and then allocate the new price across all the tickets. So if you have 2 tickets for a total of $150, you could set the Allocate price to $100, and then it would distribute the $100 across the two tickets. You can read up about this function here: http://www.tessituranetwork.com/Help_System/Content/Ticket_Order_Processing/Editing%20Prices.htm
This definitely is not something you can do on line with TNEW though. Additionally, there are some reporting implications. While the revenue would be accurately reported on standard reports, there would be no indication of how many tickets had been edited. For example, if the price type is Sub Full, edited Sub Full tickets would not be distinguished from unedited Sub Full tickets, though it would tally the total ticket amount correctly.
You could also look at using a dummy payment method to pay for the $50 discount, though that would also have reporting implications. In this case the revenue would not be accurate. It would say you took in more money than you did on sales reports. The balancing out would have to happen on the finance side of things, deducting the coupon payments from the ticket revenue.

Hello,
I'm looking to do something similar.
However, in this case it would just be a dummy/non event/item. Basically, we just want to attach a ticket to select subscription orders instructing them when/where to pick up their gift. This doesn't need to be online. Thanks in advance,
Lucas
