List Criteria Trouble

Hello smart Tessiturian minds,

I am stumped.

I am building an extraction and one of the segments I need to find single ticket buyers who have attended for the past 5 consecutive years and have only purchased either  1-2 performances  for each season.

I have for my criteria:

Ticket Seasons in (Fy 08,09,10,11,12)

No of performances<=2

Ticket S or P= S

Ticket Performance Type=Symphony Performances

I have run this a bunch of different ways, and am not getting results anywhere near where they should be. I have no clue where I am going wrong.  Is the Number of performances a total for all seasons combined or is it looking for people who have 1-2  performances per season? Any advice is appreciated!

P.S. This is still V10.

Thanks!

  • Hi Amy,

    When you make multiple selections from a dropdown they are joined by OR, meaning a constituent only has to have one of the values, not all of them.  In other words, they only have to have purchase 2 or fewer performances in one season, not all 5.

    To accomplish what you want, you are going to need multiple lists.  Make one list for each season (using the same criteria you are using now but only selecting one season per list), then in your extraction segment add the List criterion 5 times, use the HAS operator, and select the lists you created, one per criterion.  The result will be only constituents who are on all 5 lists will qualify for the segment.

    You might be able to do this in a single extraction segment using a manual edit to the query, but writing such a query is outside my expertise.
