Reporting on Gala that includes Ticket Price map and Contribution price map

Hello,

We have built a Gala event where the ticket price is tied to two Price Maps (ticket price and contribution price). I assume that someone has done this before. We are having a difficult time reporting on the contribution part since this contribution does not pop up on the Fund Activity report. Could anyone provide some leads on how I can report on the amount of the contribution made (depends on the price type they purchased) and their constituent information?

Thanks,

Rosa

  • Is there a way to get ticket prices/orders to show up in the account's contribution history?  We do "membership" orders through our ticketing module and we need the giving information to be counted as a contribution.

  • Are you processing your memberships as a ticketed event or as a contribution processed in the ticket order module?  Contributions processed in the contribution tab of the ticket order module do show up in the history tab of the constituent record.

  • Well, we would like to be able to process it as a ticketed event (as our memberships come with "seating benefits" for concerts).  What we have done for the past 2 years is have the price amounts at $0.00 and use a cheat sheet to pay for the membership via the contribution tab of the ticketing module.

This year I am trying to take advantage of the rollover/subscription abilities of Tess.  However, since the seats have a $0.00 value Tess is automatically considering the subscriptions as paid and seated.  I want it to consider the subscription rollovers as seated, but unpaid.   And I'm not sure how to make that happen--with the ticketing order still being considered as a contribution in our case.

    Does that make sense?

  • That does make sense.  One way I can see that would be fairly easy to get the benefits of both options is to rollover into a price type with a dollar amount attached, but then when processing the orders change the price type to a $0 type like you have used in the past and manually adding the contribution.  You can even adjust orders after they have been paid and saved, as long as the line items have not been printed.

  • Thanks Boann. We were kind-of considering doing that.  I guess we were hoping though that there might be a magic way to make prices contributions!  Oh well...
