Payments by performance report

There is a special payment method in this report as 'Exchanges'. Which payments are actually comes under this method and why these transactions cannot be calculated under one of the payment method of TR_PAYMENT_METHOD table. Can somebody shed some light on this one for me please.

  • Hi Harpreet,

this is a note I wrote to myself when we were developing a local version of this report which might help....

When an exchange occurs this is what happens:

    In the original performance:

The $ value stays as a positive value against the original pay type

A corresponding negative $ value is assigned to the "null" (exchange) payment type.

    In the destination performance

The $ value is added as a positive value against the "null" (exchange) payment type.

  • A question with relation to the (exchange) payment method on this report. . . If a package that is on a payment plan (but not completely paid in full) has been upgraded, will the exchange payment method be “off” on this report until the order is paid in full?  I’m asking because normally, the ‘exchange’ payment method balances itself across performances (+$40 on one performance and -$40 on the other).  However, we are experiencing the ‘exchange’ payment method not balancing to $0.00 in the totals.  We have only sold subscriptions and group at this point, and we aren’t doing individual show exchanges yet, so the only reason I can think of why money would be showing up under the ‘exchange’ payment method is due to upgrades on the package level.  Am I thinking about this correctly?  If so, once we pay off these accounts in full will the ‘exchange’ payment method balance out to $0.00?

Please help me avoid any additional panic.  Thanks!

    Christy
