V11 Constituent Module

I'm struggling to appreciate the point of the V11 constituent module, apart from two individuals in a houeshold having individual contact details, different to their "household" contact details - which makes sense.   I'm lost when it comes ticket or membership purchases. If one of the individuals in a household  wishes to independently and separately from the "household", buy a ticket or a membership how do we flag the membership, or single ticket to that individual and not the household?

  • Hi Darrell:
Our business decision is that all transactions will remain in the household, including ticketing and contributions.

The benefits of separating the affiliate accounts within the household are found in a couple of areas:  We will be able to manage business addresses separately for each member of the household, along with separate business and cell phone numbers.

Certain constituencies (and benefits) will be applied to all members of the household, such as 'subscriber'.  However, certain constituencies will only apply to an individual member (such as 'board member').

Separate from these areas is the ability to track interests and attributes that pertain to individuals; one household affiliate may be interested in education events, another might like to know about receptions or special events.

Our overall thinking is that household accounts tend to be our most committed people.  They have more overall involvement with the opera.  They tend to be donors, subscribers, members, advocates.  Having the ability to manage these good people as individuals is helpful on all fronts.

It is new and different, but the deeper we delve into v11, the more benefits we see.

    Best of luck to you,
