Online discounts for Members

We have a Friends Membership scheme. Once someone has donated £40 they become a friend and are eligible for discount tickets. The membership adds a flag to the customer record.

How can I enable a members to get access to a discount pricetype online without issuing a promo code?

Essentially I'd like customers to log in online and have that log in be the trigger for access to the pricetype.

I've read through a lot of the forum items and online reference materials but can't find how to do it.

If anyone could point me in the general direction I'd be very grateful.

  • That's also exactly how we do it. MOS with a ranking.

Don't forget to set rules on when the ranking will not apply for all your different membership types, like pending and lapsed members.

    Hi Simon,

The way we handle this is to have a separate web MOS that is accessible only if you have a certain type of ranking point. The access is set up in tr_web_ranking. Documentation on that table is good - check it out.

The only downside is that it's yet another MOS to manage.

    Thanks,
    Mary
