Hi,
For our upcoming season (which we've already sold a number of packges to) and a few single tickets, we will be changing the seats and consequently need to create a new facility and roll everyone over into the new facility.
From researching on the network, the knowledge base article, "Rollover into a new facility using conversion process" as well as the thread which details the Export / Import utilities are very useful:

My question is that we don't want to rebuild the season for the new facility as the old performances even if they are off sale will still show up in Season Manager. Plus it is very labor-intensive.
My idea is after exporting all the order information is to switch the facility in t_perf for the productions, and then import the new orders (through a dummy season for packages and directly for single tickets). Then to release the old seats using performance seat release (hopefully it still works even if there is a facility change). Box office will then apply payments to the new orders.
Does anyone know if this will work?
Thanks,
Lou Ann
Once a performance has had ticketing activity or pricing setup added, the facility cannot be changed.

Thanks Ryan.
I am wondering now if we should just make changes to the existing facility. The seat numbers will be completely different, and I think the number of seats is a bit less but the general configuration is pretty similar. If we run up_populate_tx_perf_seat, up_update_logical_nos, up_update_zone_no, and up_update_comp_maps just for the upcoming season, then seat maps for past performances should not be affected? If no one is in an existing seat I know how to get rid of it from tx_perf_seat.
My other thought is to create a new facility, rebuild the season, then make the perf_dts for the old facility way in the future so they won't show up this upcoming season.
Next time we will definitely do this before rollover!
Thank you.
It’s always best to create a new facility. You can make a copy of the facility using the utility under the Ticketing Processing category to ease the start of this process.
By editing the existing facility, you alter the status of seats which are linked to existing orders, history, and sales. There is no supported way of removing seats from a seat map once they have been transacted on (seat history generated) apart from applying blackout holds to all affected performances. This is mainly because the link to this seat must remain for proper acknowledgment of seat activity for reporting, analysis, etc. The designation of whether a spot on the seat map is indeed a seat begins at the base facility setup (T_SEAT). If you change the status of the cell, it affects every performance attributed to the seat map/facility.
