Ticket Scalpers

We have just found a website that is re-selling our tickets for astronomical prices.  We've tracked back the patron that is selling them and are dealing with our laywers, but wondered what other organizations are doing to stop this from happening. 

Any assistance or help would be appreciated.

    It’s legal in Minnesota so for us there is nothing to do.

    We have a huge problem with this as well. What we do is mark all accounts that we've figured out to be ticket scalpers with a constituency code of "SCP." We suppress anyone with this constituency code from any mailings, advanced purchase privileges etc...

    We also just instituted a new feature online that allows us to register a scalpers email address with our web application firewall and that will preclude the user from being able to log into our website with that email address. We just have to make sure that their account is marked with this constituency code. When one of the confirmed scalpers logs in, it throws a very ambiguous error and then blocks their computer's address for 24 hours. We kept the error ambiguous as we did not want them to know why we blocked them, which would then provide them with enough information to create a new account using a different name or email address.

    We've succumbed to the fact that there is no way we can totally ever stop them, they will just go online and create new accounts and buy tickets that way, but we are trying to do everything possible to help the situation.
