Color blind?

Hi all,

Are there any work-arounds to make the seating charts more user-friendly for someone who is color blind?

Thanks in advance,

Lesley

    Hi Lesley,

Did you ever find a solution to this? We are starting to use allocations quite heavily and some of our operators are unable to see the red dots.

  • Hi Natasha,

There is a system table called TR_SEAT_STATUS where you can change the colors on the charts. I think that the changes will affect every user, so you might want to play in the test system first. We ended up not making any changes, and the user in question got more proficient at distinguishing the color variations.

  • The row to update in TR_SEAT_STATUS is 'Not in Allocation'.

  • Just a quick FYI, we did make a couple of edits to the colours in this table because we also had a colour blind staff member. Changing the colours in that table is fairly simple but I would recommend noting somewhere that you've done so. That way future staff members know that this is not the out-of-the-box settings. Also make sure you don't assign two different seat types the exact same colours. :)
