The amount of seats we're being asked to hold for various departments has gotten out of hand. We seem to spend an abundant amount of time seeking permission to release them, negotiating the number of seats and their locations, etc. So, I'm creating a Hold Policy for our Center to streamline the holds process. Does anyone already have such a thing and are willing to share?
Thanks in advance!

In our weekly sales report to our Directors we report the number holds and more importantly their value.
The Directors then ensure their departments don’t hold on to them unnecessarily!
We no longer have any issues regarding holds!
Hope this helps

We only hold seats during the main run in 3 primary categories, Senior Management, Press and Development. As we are under 500 seats, we hold 6 in each category which are released at the latest at 5pm day of performance. On sold out events we reduce the numbers in advance of the performance date where possible. Our Tess Administrator is working to move our team to managing their own allocations directly through tess rather than us doing it for them via excel.
Would be interested to hear what policy you come up with, always good to make changes.
All the best,
