Tier Based Fees

Is there anyone out in Tessi Land that is using tiered fees based on ticket price?  We've been asked to apply fees based on single ticket price for the per ticket fee and also for the per order fee.  I have a couple of ideas for the per ticket fee (but would like to know how other organizations might be doing it).  The tiered per order fee is a whole other beast that I realize we're going to have to come up with some magical workaround/solution, but if anyone has suggestions, I'm very interested in hearing them.

  • Teresa,

We had tiered fees based on ticket price and the only way I found to make it work was to add them to the ticket price as their own price map.  That way I could map the fee to the zone, aka the price and have it be whatever it needed to be.  However I also know that you might be able to do this through the fee set up since you can have seat price ranges so you could set up multiple fees for each price type along the lines of for seat prices $0 to $10 the fee is $1, for prices $10.01 to $20.00 the fee is $2 and so on.  You would have to build multiple fees that way but you might be able to better control them.  In our way of doing them you cannot override the fee in any way since it is part of the price and you would want to look at how that might impact your reporting and settlement.
