Selling Single Tickets to an Event Through a Special Promotion ... Unseated?

Hey All--

We've got an idea to sell some tickets for a special Young Friends promotion online (a dirt cheap deal for a select bunch of performances), and we think we've got it figured out from a promo code standpoint (hooray!). However, my box office would like to sell these tickets as unseated (despite the performances otherwise being best seating/SYOS) as they want to seat the Young Friends according to holes in the house closer to the performance date. It's important that these remain on sale otherwise as best seat/SYOS, as other patrons will surely want to purchase that way!

This begins to delve into murky waters that I know nothing about ... is such a thing possible (selling the tickets as unseated and then seating them later)?

THANK YOU!

  • Hi Brian,

There is no easy way to accomplish this on the web; any solution would require some recoding of your website which I suspect is not feasible for this situation.  Your best option would be to set up a dummy GA performance and then exchange people out of it and into the real performance when it’s time to assign seats.  You could use a promo code triggered MOS shift to control access to the dummy performance.
