At the museum all of our ticketing is GA and we never use packages, until a golden opportunity came up a few days ago. So I think I have an easy question about package setup. It's been awhile since I used packages so I must be forgetting something simple and obvious.
We are offering a 6 week education course. I created 6 peformances, created a perf_group with all 6 perfs(fixed seat), and then created a fixed seat package and set the minimum perfs to 3.
The package works fine, but I know that after week 1, they will want to sell 5 of the 6 perfs. I tried deleting a sublineitem and Tess is not allowing me to do this. When I attempt to do this, it says, "Unable to delete package sub lineietms from the sub lineitems tab view, entire packages can be deleted from the lineitem view". I could be wrong, but I thought it was possible to drop some perfs in a package if desired.

To allow users to delete line items from a fixed seat package in the order you can set the Min Perfs on the package (not on the perf group) to the lowest number of classes you will allow. If you want to have the performance not appear in the package at all when it is added then I would do what was already suggested which is remove the peoformance from the perf group.

What you are referring to is what I have done but I get the message as described earlier. I remember at my last job we used to be able to delete the lineitems when we wanted to drop a show from the fixed seat series. It's not letting me do this now. I am sure I am just missing something trivial.
Here's a recap of what I did: Created 6 perfs, Created a perf group with all 6 shows, created a fix seat package and set the min perfs to 3 on the package (the perf groups min and max are greyed out). Package works fine, but I can't delete any of the 6 perfs.

Ah you are close. To delete the performances you need to be on the Line Items tab, not Sub Line Items. On the Line Items tab make sure the "Pkg Details" check-box is checked so you can see the individual performances. From there operators should be able to delete to their heart's content.
Anna, that was it. I didn't have the package details box checked so I was going into sub lineitems to try and perform the delete.
