Package Setup

At the museum all of our ticketing is GA and we never use packages, until a golden opportunity came up a few days ago. So I think I have an easy question about package setup. It's been awhile since I used packages so I must be forgetting something simple and obvious.

We are offering a 6 week education course. I created 6 peformances, created a perf_group with all 6 perfs(fixed seat), and then created a fixed seat package and set the minimum perfs to 3.

The package works fine, but I know that after week 1, they will want to sell 5 of the 6 perfs. I tried deleting a sublineitem and Tess is not allowing me to do this. When I attempt to do this, it says, "Unable to delete package sub lineietms from the sub lineitems tab view, entire packages can be deleted from the lineitem view". I could be wrong, but I thought it was possible to drop some perfs in a package if desired.

Appreciate the help,

  • Ryan is right. That's the best fix.

Because we create packages for multiple organizations, we have to rig multiple prorated packages during setup time that represent the reduced number of performances. Then set them to enable when the package before it disables. Takes a little more time, but it gets them out of the way. And it gives the resident organizations the chance to proof them with their other package(s).
