Hello Everyone,
I'm writing today to see if any of you sell "season tickets" they way we do. Here at First Stage, we actually do not use the preloaded options for the sales of season tickets. Our packages are VERY flexible and really the only parameter we have is that they need to purchase a minimum number of shows to get the subscriber pricing. After that, it's pretty much free game, and we want it that way. They don't have to have the same number of seats for each show; they don't have to have the same day for all shows; essentialy, they can totally customize their subscription to their needs.
We are looking at rebuilding our website and are wondering what, if anything, you all do for this type of "subscription". We want to use the builder/flex option in Tessitura but it seems that it's limited to the same number of seats for every performance. We want to make this as easy of a purchase as possible for our patrons so we don't want them to have to "add" seats for any show without a guarantee that all seats will be next to each other.
Any ideas on this would be very helpful as we progress along on our new website build.
Chris
Hi Chris –
We do something like what you’re describing with our Create-Your-Own Series. Patrons must select at least 5 concerts to access the discount, and we have our discounts structured so that the more the patron buys, the bigger the discount they receive. Rather than use the builder/flex functionality in Tessitura, we utilize single ticket discounts, with requirements of a certain number of tickets per order to access the discount. Our website has special coding built into it to allow the website to recognize when a patron has added enough concerts to qualify for the discounts, and it will apply them automatically. So even if a new person wanders to our site without knowing about the offer, it will automatically appear once they have added 5+ concerts to their cart. You can try it yourself at cso.org/cyo.
In terms of the specifics of the functionality, you’d have to talk to our web team – that’s beyond my technical comprehension.
