Hi all,
Our first year in Tessitura is the 2012 Fiscal year. I am now needing to begin building the various seasons, campaigns, fees, etc for the 2013 fiscal year and am wondering what I can do differently to make things better.
When I built the Fees for 2012 I had to build almost all of our fees multiple times because we didn't have one campaign that would encompass all of our different seasons. So for each season we had I had to build all the fees. It's a lot of fees and when constituents order tickets from more than one season they get double charged on the per order fees.
I am proposing to my coworkers that for the 2013 fiscal year I build a very generic campaign (called something along the lines of 2013 Fees) that can become a home for all of them. Then I can take advantage of the "all in fyear" season option and only build the fees once.
Is this something that the rest of Tessiturians have figured out already or is there a different way to do what I'm trying to do?
Thanks in advance for any input!
Hi Beth,
Are you doing any campaign based reporting for ticketing? A campaign is usually redundant to a season, and the standard campaign reports are usually only used for source reporting (and even then they aren’t the best choice), so many organizations set up their campaigns and never even look at them. I think setting up a fee campaign is a good idea, even if you are looking at campaign reports, otherwise your fee revenue is lumped in with your ticket revenue without a way of distinguishing them on the report (that’s the same reason you usually have separate single ticket and package campaigns). And if aren’t looking at the campaign reports, that’s all the more reason to go with the fee campaign and not worry about it.

Thanks to both of you! I am definitely going to go ahead with the fee specific campaign. I'll most likely just create a new one each fiscal year to be consistent.
I feel much better now. :)
