Restricting MOP on a presale

Before I tax my brain cells trying to figure out if there is a way to do this, is anyone doing presales restricted to a specific method of payment online?  As in only for American Express cardholders?  I'd like to make sure they only use a certain MOP with this promo code, price type, allocation code or anything else I can do control it without modifying the API.

Thanks,

Susan Crockett

At least in theory, I think you could do it by setting up another organisation name variable (ie another  parent_table value in t_defaults), linking it to a new Web  user in a user group that only has access to that payment method, and then writing website code to  reset the organization name variable under whatever circumstances will trigger the special situation.

If you’re not in a consortium, that’s probably not the sort of thing that your website does now, and it may be too complex and dangerous to be worth considering, but it might work…. J

OTOH, it would probably be simpler just to write some special code to handle it all on the website side of things, since you’d have to cut some code anyway.

I don't think that's possible without custom code. Unless it was supposed to be for existing patrons of yours with Amexes only, and not new people, which I doubt is the case, but then you could at least in theory, have a rank type assigned to those people you already know have Amexes and use that to trigger the presale. But it still wouldn't limit them to actually only using the Amex for the sale... just limiting it to people who have one.
