Zip code capture

Has anyone been capturing/tracking zip codes from their walk up sales customers?  If so, how are you doing it?  We’d like to better identify our customers so we can determine where and how to focus our marketing efforts.  - Thanks Nancy

  • Hey Nancy,

Since we both do a majority of our sales as GA, we share the same issues. Our marketing people always ask for this. So far I've held them at bay, but I've thought about how I might do it if they ever win. :-)

I suppose you could add the zip codes in the order category box if you are not using it for anything else. So basically you would pre-load the zip codes you want to track and then make one called- other in state and other out of state.

You could also use the notes field if you set up a standard way of input so that your report writer could do aggregates off of a text field. So you would have to tell all your operators to put in a note such as, Z-95113.

That's the best I could come up with. Pretty lousy hah?
