Hi there,
Just wondering if anyone knows how many email addresses a report can be scheduled to send to at once? I know there is a limit, as some fail if we try a big group......but if anyone happens to know the limit, it will save us a lot of trial and error time!
Many thanks,
Emma
Thanks Ken – yes, exactly the issue. That’s a good suggestion re: the distribution groups, will go for that option.
Good to know the character limit though too.
Cheers!

Hi Emma
The column in the table is limited to 2048 characters, but the text box where you specify the addresses will accept more than that.
If you enter more emails into the text box than will fit in 2048 chars and say “Ok”, it just silently doesn’t save the entry/update – ie it looks like it’s worked, but if you go and look at the schedule, the emails (or the extra emails that you’ve just added) aren’t there.
Is that your problem?
If you need to repeatedly send to a huge list, it’s probably easier to set up a distribution list in your email system, and just send the report to that one destination. Then you don’t have to muck around with long text lists in the report scheduler, which is kind of messy anyway.

Correction - actually all fail in this case, not just some. Would be easier to work out if that was the case!
