Deleting a performance from a package

We have a fixed package currently on sale, but one of the performance has recently been cancelled.  The tickets have not been printed and the package is still being offered on line.  Is there any reason why we can not delete the performance from the package and continue to to sell the package? Also, Is there a way for us to exchange the performance to something else if the patron wants to exchange it, without printing the series?

  • Perhaps I’m not looking in the right place, but it looks like for a fixed package there is no min or max performance required. I know the flex packages are set up that way, so can I add the min perfs number after the fact?

If the minimum perfs on the pkg and perf group are set to 1 less than however many perfs are in the pkg, then you can delete the perf's lineitem.

Deleting the perf from the pkg in the setup will prevent the perf from being included in future sales, but won't affect the existing orders. It's the minimum number of perfs allowed that you want to change to fix your existing orders.

I am looking at fixing the previously built orders before we allow any new orders.  The problem I’m having is that the package is a fixed series so it does not allow you to delete line items.  You have to print the order before you can exchange anything.  So I’m wondering if that will change if I delete the performance from the series in ticketing setup.

Are you looking at new orders going forward or also fixing previously built orders?

For new orders, you can delete a show from a Ticket Order in the Line Items tab. You need to make sure to have the Package Details box checked so it will list all of the shows within the package and then just highlight the item you want to remove and click Delete.

You do have to make sure that your package is set up so that the minimum number of performances is under or 1 less than the number of shows in your package, otherwise it won't delete.

We've also dropped a performance from a sold order before. Youhave to print the tickets for the show you need to drop and run a Seat Cancellation on that show. The money paid into that show automatically got put into an On Account fund (On Account - Subs) for the patron to use for future transactions.

Let me know if you need clarification on this and I'd be happy to give you more info off line.

  • I might be remembering wrong, so hopefully someone will correct me, but I think it's that if there's no min, you can't delete anything, but if you add a min, then you can delete down to whatever the min is.
