Dear All,
We need to change our main facility as part our TNEW implementation. I will need to remove a stack of seats from one screen and put them onto another. I realise that the addition of new seats will only take effect for new performances built in that facility, but will the removal of seats cause mass trouble for existing performances?
Has anyone had to do this before? Any words of wisdom or warning?

You can actually delete seats that have been sold in the past, but I wouldn’t suggest doing it while you have active performances that are using those seats.
We removed a row of seats a few years back, and once we ran all the utilities to update the facility, the ticket history of those seats no longer exists – either in the order itself, or in the Ticket History screen. The scale still shows, as well as the price, but the seats themselves are blank.
So you will lose some history there – if you don’t want to do that, I’d suggest the blackout option that Teresa mentions.

Beau,
One thing to keep in mind about removing seats….if they have transaction history, you can’t remove them. We create black out holds and apply those to every performance since we are unable to remove/delete the seats completely. If we have sold the seats in an existing performance, we reseat the patrons before applying the black out hold.
