Simple dynamic pricing (advance vs. @the door)

Hi all,

We are incorporating a difference in cost between advance purchases vs. at the door purchases. Advance tickets are less expensive than night of. We are using the same price type for both. In ticketing set-up, we have an end time on the advance price map and as soon as it ends, the night of price map starts.

My question is within ticketing set-up, are we supposed to mark both price maps (advanced and night of) as the base map? Also, how  do you proof them. The price verification report that we use to proof is adding both price maps together.

Thanks,

Rosa

Does anyone know how to proof performance set-up since the price verification report adds all Price Maps together?

Our practice is what Nicole stated.  We check the increased price as Base and then when we go to close out the show we go back in and recheck the original price as base price.

Or, you can check the original piece as “Base Price” once you take the show off sale so that historically you have the original GP, but CSRs see the current price when they hover.

If you mark both they well add into your Gross Potential: your GP will be over double what it shows be so no, don’t click them all.

We always keep the original price set as the base price.  When we dynamically price up the show has the potential of going over 100%. The only set back we have found is when you hover over the seats it will show you the Base Price not the Current Price so you have to train your staff to not trust the hover method for pricing. You could also add a mandatory note that says you increase price on the day of show so the operators we know to check that with the patron before closing out the sale.
