Graphics on Tickets = HEADDESK

Hi Everyone,

I keep trying to put the graphics on the ticket. I know the images are saved in the PCX folder as a pcx file but every time I try to close the graphic design element properties with the file I get the following message:

"Could not find unused byte in selected file" and than have to close.

Any advice, help, sanity check would be greatly appreciated.

Chris

  • Some people have gotten this error due to the file not being 1 bit-monochrome.

Here are also some tips that I found on TASK solution 15212 that may prove useful as well.

Graphics files for tickets must be 1 bit monochrome PCX files and is only possible on FGL series 42,44 and 46.  If the printer is FGL 22, 24 or 26, the image will not appear on the ticket.
The location where the graphics files should be stored is specified in the T_DEFAULTS entry "PCX PATH" where the Parent Table is "Impresario".  Below is the description of this setting from the System_Defaults_Description.doc document:

Path where PCX files used in printing graphics on tickets are stored.  This should be a path available to all users.  Store with trailing slash.  Can be overridden with an entry in the [Defaults] section of the local ini file (pcx_path=<path>)

Also below find the comment from 4.5 Release note item #145. T_DEFAULTS > IMPRESARIO > PCX PATH:

Path where PCX files used in printing graphics on tickets are stored. This should be a path available to all users. Store with trailing slash. Can be overridden with an entry in the [Defaults] section of the local ini file (pcx_path=<path>) 4.5 Release Notes item #145 Ticket Design Enhancement: A new Element Type has been added to the ticket designer which allows PCX format graphic files to be printed on tickets. The T_DEFAULTS entry "PCX PATH" determines where Tessitura will look for the graphics files, which must be in pcx format. The T_DEFAULTS entry can be overridden by adding an entry called pcx_path to the [Defaults] section to the local ini file. This entry should have the full path to local pcx files after the = sign. Graphic elements can be scaled and rotated using the Char. Height, Char. Width, and Rotation controls in the element detail window. Depending on the size of these graphics files, ticket printing speeds are slower when using graphics files. NB: Only PCX files in the monochrome (1 bit) format can be printed on tickets.

There is another setting which determines whether printing graphics on tickets is allowed or not.  The description of the T_DEFAULTS entry "USE_PRINTSEND" setting where the Parent Table is "Impresario" is below:

If this setting exists with a value of Yes, then printing graphics on tickets is possible.  This key can be overridden for individual workstations by adding this entry to [Defaults] section of the local ini file: Use_Printsend=Yes

I'm having exactly the same issue with the same error message.

Did you end up finding a solution - would be great to find out how to fix this!

    Cheers,
