Hello all,
We are about to purchase some barcode readers in order to help with quicker excahnges and more accurate house counts. We are not planning on using NSCAN. Is there anything I need to be aware of when purchasing this readers? What are other people using?
We here at The Arts Centre, Melbourne are using Motorola MC 55 they are quite stable and works great for us. One thing to keep in mind when using these scanner is to disable data wedge , which is preinstalled on these scanners they tend to interfere while scanning tickets.

If you're looking for a USB scanner to do post-event attendance recording and to look up orders for exchanges, you can use something like the Symbol LS2208. It's a lower-cost alternative to the full-featured N-Scan-compatible devices like the MC55 or -75. You can get more information about it and about how it might be used in the Bar Codes document at http://www.tessituranetwork.com/network/About/Network%20News/Network%20Newsletters/~/media/Documentation/General/Bar_Codes.ashx
