We are in the process of redesigning our ticket stock for the coming season. One version would have a light screening of multiple logos across the entire face of the ticket, including the area previously clear for the barcode as printed by a Boca. Are we going to be really sorry for going in this direction? Does anyone know specifications about barcode readability using Symbol scanners? I'll be checking with our ticket stock vendor as well.
I have heard that if there is any design element behind the bar code it becomes difficult if not impossible to scan. This is just hearsay however, since I don't have first hand knowledge. Perhaps someone else could confirm this.
Jon,
We have a graphic printed on the entire front of our ticket stock. It is a very legible design, but light blue ink; and has never interfered with the scanning. If you want to e-mail me directly (rbernard@smm.org) , I will send you a pdf.
Ray
